What to Expect at AdvocacyCon 2026

  • AdvocacyCon

If this is your first time hearing about AdvocacyCon, or your first time considering attending, here's what you need to know before September 11-13, 2026 in Albuquerque.

What AdvocacyCon actually is

AdvocacyCon is a crime conference built for a specific purpose: bringing together families of the missing and murdered, the experts who support them, and the nonprofits and advocates doing the work in between. It's not a true crime entertainment event. It's a working conference, built to be trauma-informed from the ground up, where families can find community, resources, and practical strategy for moving their cases forward.

Who should come

You don't need a professional credential to attend. AdvocacyCon is open to:

●       Families directly affected by a missing or murdered loved one

●       Content creators and advocates using their platforms to raise awareness

●       Nonprofit organizations and subject-matter experts

●       Members of the public who want to learn how to help

If you're an impacted family member

Families are the reason this conference exists. There are dedicated opportunities throughout the weekend to connect directly with experts, organizations, and advocates who may be able to help. If you need financial assistance and/or to submit your loved one's story, fill out our family registration form to get started.

Registering

General admission and virtual attendance are both available. Head to the AdvocacyCon homepage for current ticket options, or reserve a hotel room at our conference rate through the Hilton block. Pre-registration is required, there's no walk-up registration at the door, so don't wait until the week of.

Accessibility and accommodations

If you have specific accessibility needs, email us ahead of time at Whitney@advocacycon.com and we'll do everything we can to make sure you're comfortable and included.

Can't make it to Albuquerque?

Virtual attendance is available this year for the first time. You can register for virtual admission here and take part in the sessions from wherever you are.

We built AdvocacyCon because this community needed a space that didn't exist yet: education, connection, and strategy, without having to explain your grief to get in the door. We hope to see you there.
